My Sister’s Fish Tacos

My Sister’s Fish Tacos

                                                My Sister’s Fish Tacos.

My Sister’s Fish TacosRecently my sister, Joanna, told me to season the fish for tacos with cumin! Well, I use cumin all the time but have never seasoned fish with it. So, this really does make sense since Mexican recipes usually call for cumin as well as oregano, garlic, chilis and lime!

So I made My Sister’s Fish Tacos and they are fantastic!! Top them with black beans, avocado, tomato, cabbage, feta and white or red hot sauce! Delicious!!

Ingredient amounts vary depending upon how much you are making so its ok to wing it!! I am not going to list them.

*Extra virgin olive oil

*4-6 ounces(or more) fish portions(I used halibut pieces but tilapia or fish of choice is good) *Seasoned with: Cumin powder, salt and pepper, dried oregano leaves, chili flakes, Mexican Fiesta (Frontier) and a sprinkling of lime juice

*Place oil and seasoned fish in a fry pan

*Heat to medium high and cook the fish on each side for a few minutes until cooked through

*In the meantime drain and rinse a can of black beans and heat in a separate saucepan

*Soften either corn or flour tortillas in a microwave, oven or stovetop

*Fill the tortillas with the fish and beans

*Top them with crumbled feta or cotija cheese

*Top again with shredded cabbage, avocado and tomato

*Sprinkle with Mexican sauce of choice( I used ready made Cholula)

*Note: my sister makes this great white sauce with a combination of sour cream or yogurt, a bit of mayonnaise, garlic(fresh chopped or dried granules), lime juice and a red hot sauce (Mexican or Sriracha)

This is a keeper fish taco recipe!! Enjoy!
