Simple Potato Onion Tian.
This simple potato onion tian doesn’t even need a recipe! It is a perfect accompaniment to a Holiday Ham or Turkey and also a wonderful contribution to a Holiday potluck! With just five or six ingredients and a mandoline slicer, my Simple Potato Onion Tian comes together in a flash but looks like you slaved over it for hours!
This is my version of scalloped potatoes!
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
8-10 organic golden potatoes, sliced on a mandoline slicer
1 medium organic onion, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
Italian Riviera seasoning or Herbes de Provence to taste
1/4 cup unsalted butter, cut in pats
Preheat Oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit
Prepare an oval baking dish by coating it with some of the olive oil
Arrange the sliced potatoes in a circular fashion
Intersperse the sliced onion between the potato slices
Fill in the middle with the sliced potatoes and onion
Season to taste
Dredge with the rest of olive oil
Intersperse the butter pats in between the slices and top with the rest of the butter, cover with foil
Bake in oven for 30 minutes until potatoes are tender
Uncover the dish and raise the temperature to 400 degrees
Bake for another 15-20 minutes until dish is bubbly and browned
That”s it! Now Enjoy!!
